The F.D. Roosevelt Teaching Hospital with Policlinic Banska Bystric is one of the largest hospitals in Slovakia, operating in a region with 650 thousand inhabitants. It offers complex health care as an endpoint hospital for the catchment area of the Banska Bystrica city, Banska Bystrica Self-Governing region and the entire Slovak Republic providing services for inpatients in 34 specialized departments, 86 outpatients and in 10 specialized centres.
Yearly, FDRH serves medical service to as many as half a million patients with around 40 thousand hospitalizations. It counts on about 2 500 employees (from that: 400 physicians, 1 500 other medical staff) and almost 1 000 beds.
Academic Field: a teaching base of Slovak Medical University.
